Hypnosis - Other Uses

Hypnosis can be used for virtually any purpose, where the focus or attention of the subject is a requirement or at least an advantage.

Learning or education is an obvious example where hypnosis can be of benefit.   MyHypnotist addresses this in its Super-Learning program.

Hypnosis is a valuable tool for introducing behavioral or attitudinal changes in the subject.   When our subconscious minds are open to suggestion and we are focused on a particular topic, we can introduce new, empowering behaviors and attitudes.   We can also concentrate on getting rid of old, disempowering habits and behaviors.   Some examples of positive behavioral changes are: to quit smoking, to lose or gain weight, to improve self-confidence, to help form better relationships with friends and associates, and to overcome irrational fears and anxieties.

Hypnosis allows our subconscious mind to become free to express itself.   By allowing our subconscious mind this freedom, we can become more creative - unrestricted by the bounds normally imposed by our conscious mind.   (give examples) Visualizing, imagining and halucinating are tasks all made easier in the trance state, and performing these tasks can greatly aid our creativity and ingenuity.

Freeing our subconscious mind also helps us recall events and memories which might otherwise have been locked away forever.   Recalling past memories can assist us in many ways - in overcoming irrational fear and anxiety, to tapping into memories in our past which were beneficial to us.

To re-live past memories and times in our life by tapping into the experiences and sensations locked away in our subconscious, is to become that person again - at that time.   MyHypnotist has a program called Age Regression which utilizes this technique.

In its simplest form, the hypnotic or trance state is most often induced by a progressive relaxation of the subject.   So, hypnosis is a valuable tool for relieving stress, for allowing the subject to relax, loosen tight muscles, quiet the mind, even help him/her sleep better.
